Weather Situation
A high over southern Australia extends a ridge across the state driving a
moist, easterly flow along the Queensland coast. This ridge will dominate
Queensland weather for much of this week as a series of highs move eastwards to
the south of the state. A trough may cross the south of the state late in the
week.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 11 August
Partly cloudy. Medium chance of showers along the coastal fringe, slight chance
elsewhere. Winds southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming light in the late
afternoon. Daytime maximum temperatures in the low 20s.

Cassowary Coast. Mostly sunny about the northwest, partly cloudy elsewhere.

below average.
Forecast for Tuesday 12 August
Isolated showers about the east coast, extending towards Charters Towers during
the afternoon. Showers tending scattered about the exposed South East
Queensland coast and widespread at times about the North Tropical Coast.
Possible morning frost about the Granite Belt and Central Highlands. The chance
of morning fog about the southeast, though less likely near the coast. Partly
cloudy otherwise. Maximum temperatures near average.
Forecast for Wednesday 13 August
Isolated showers about the east coast, tending scattered about the exposed
South East Queensland coast and widespread at times about the North Tropical
Coast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms about the central and northern
interior as well as the northwest. Possible morning frost about the Granite
Belt. The chance of morning fog about eastern districts south of Bowen, though
less likely near the coast. Mostly sunny about the southwest, partly cloudy
elsewhere. Maximum temperatures near average.

Isolated showers about the east coast and Border Ranges, tending scattered with
isolated thunderstorms about the exposed South East Queensland coast. Possible
morning frost about the Granite Belt and Central Highlands. The chance of
morning fog about the southeast, though less likely near the coast. Sunny about
western Queensland, partly cloudy elsewhere. Maximum temperatures near average.
Outlook for Friday 15 August to Sunday 17 August
Isolated showers about the east coast. The chance of morning frost about the
southern and central interior. Partly cloudy about the southern interior on
Saturday, sunny otherwise. Maximum temperatures slightly above average about
the southeast on Saturday, below average in the southwest on Saturday extending
across the interior on Sunday, near average otherwise.
